Data Warehouse Engineer II

Reporting to the IT Systems Manager, will design, implement, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and manage our cloud database solutions to meet business and software development & delivery needs. Works closely with Acuity’s Business Analytics team to provide infrastructure, ETL, normalization and SQL query support, to facilitate Business Intelligence projects.  Be responsible for the wellbeing and continuous improvement of our database solutions to meet business and software development & delivery needs.

  • Consults with Senior Management in order to understand business strategy/needs to identify and manage improvement opportunities.
  • Assembles data sets, create, automate, and manage data pipelines/exports to support data reporting/analytic tools and processes.
  • Data Warehousing/Data Lake's design and implementation to support data reporting/analytic initiatives and BI platforms & tools.
  • Viewed as an expert in the development and execution of data warehouse related activities.
  • Establishes and maintains advanced knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, and data integrity issues.
  • Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.
  • Develops very complex and varied strategic report applications from a Data Warehouse.
  • Monitors project schedules and costs for own and other projects

REQUIRED:

Any combination of the following totaling 7 years of experience:

  • College coursework in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
    • 60 semester hours or associate degree equals one year
    • 90 semester hours equals two years
    • 120 semester hours or bachelor’s degree equals three years

(Note: Only a maximum of 3 years credit for college course work is available.)

  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with Cloud Technologies like AWS, GCP or Azure
  • MInimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing data pipelines, including ETL workflows  in cloud platforms; in-depth knowledge of various core Google Cloud Platform services such as IAM, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage, & BigQuery.

DESIRABLE:     Experience in the healthcare industry.
