Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis

In office / Onsite - Pasadena, CA 

Provides technical and administrative leadership and support for general accounting, finance, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A).  Prepares required financial reports, maintains integrity of financial reporting systems, and provides analytical support regarding financial statements and general ledger.

  • Leads the development and execution of the annual budget, as well as monthly forecasts, focusing on the underlying business drivers, key financial and operating metrics, and relative sensitivity analysis.
  • Provides insight on financial performance, including analysis of variance to prior periods, forecasts, or budgets.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly close and consolidation, including variance explanations and journal entries.
  • Reports on monthly CapEx spending, quarterly forecasts and annual budget.
  • Analyzes large volumes of data and presents in a concise and intuitive manner; interprets data to explain past financial performance and projects future results; and formulates a coherent story with clear, easy to follow conclusions and implications.
  • Provides sound and intelligent recommendations on variances found in location P&L’s.
  • Works with Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
  • Receives and resolves inquiries from managers regarding monthly financial results.
  • Analyzes and reports results of special projects assigned by supervisor and/or self-initiative on a timely basis along with sound conclusions and recommendations.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting or related field.
  • 2-5 years of related experience in finance/accounting, including detailed financial analysis of financial statements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; strong Excel and PowerPoint abilities required.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of time.

DESIRABLE: Experience in healthcare industry.
