Back Office Technician / Optometric Assistant

Performs a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Prepares patients for examination and assists other optical professionals in providing treatment to the eyes.

• Correctly summarizes and documents what the physician during an examination.
• Charts the examination documenting additions to the chief complaint, assessment, and recommendations for treatment.
• Collect and document the patient's chief complaint.
• Verify the patient's ocular, medical, and medications health history
• Basic Visual Acuity (VA) assessment.
• Intraocular pressure (IOP) test with a Tonopen unit.
• Topical ophthalmic and dilation medications.
• TFundus photos.
• Visual Field (VF) test.
• Flourescein Angiogram (FA) procedure.
• Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICG) procedure.
• Refraction.

Required

High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
At least one (1) year of medical experience.

Preferred:
COA or COT
Experience in the Ophthalmic or Optometric Industry.
