Optical Manager

Work Schedule: Includes Saturdays

Manages all facets of a retail store operations. Maintains highest level of customer service. Ensures daily operation of a retail area including personnel management, budgetary controls, inventory controls, drives profitable sales growth, increases customer count, and manages centralized processes. Monitors trends in the eyewear industry and keeps inventory up to date. Trains Opticians on products and sales.

  • Achieve and maintain the highest level of customer service.
  • Lead team collaboration between Doctors and Opticians to maximize business performance and patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
  • Motivate associates to exceed performance standards and goals.
  • Interface and maintain professional relations with the doctor, associates, and customers.
  • Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (i.e. reviewing the P&L).
  • Monitor sales results and key performance indicators
  • Investigate and compile competitive information.
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly statistics to the corporate office.
  • Perform new and continuing training for Opticians.
  • Verify that optical lab products meet quality specifications and timeliness SLAs.
  • Ensure effective merchandising and presentation according to Brand and Company standards.
  • Setup new optical shops including ordering and installation.
  • Audit monthly inventory.
  • Analyze data to make recommendations on ways to improve profitability.
  • Develop marketing plan for monthly promotions, collateral, etc.
  • Hire, supervise and cross train all store associates.

REQUIRED:  At least 3 or more years of related work experience as an Optician, dispensing contact lenses and glasses. Computer knowledge and user.

DESIRABLE:  Associates or Bachelor’s Degree. 

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Certified Dispensing Optician (preferred)
