Technical Writer III – Q Clearance Required

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer III to support the development, editing, coordination, and production of technical reports, briefings, presentations, and other mission-critical documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong technical editing and writing skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with engineering and technical teams in a fast-paced, multi-person environment. Experience handling classified and sensitive information, including document marking, reproduction, and destruction, is required. The candidate should be comfortable preparing materials for a variety of audiences, including senior government officials.

Location:
Washington, DC or Gaithersburg, MD

Salary:
Up to $155,000

Clearance:
Active Q Clearance Required

Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Business Administration, Language Arts, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.

Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience performing and expediting editing and report production activities within a multi-person organization, with an emphasis on responsiveness, timeliness, and accuracy.

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience editing technical reports, briefings, presentations, and other technical documentation for a variety of audiences, including senior government officials.
• Experience working with engineering and technical personnel to coordinate report production and ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
• Experience handling classified and sensitive documents, including proper marking, reproduction, distribution, handling, and destruction.
• Strong technical editing, proofreading, and document production skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies, errors, and formatting issues.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively with technical, engineering, management, and government personnel.
• Active Q Clearance required.
