Description

DecisiveInstincts, LLC, is a joint venture (ActioNet and Akamai Intelligence) is seeking a Senior Electronics Technician to support the installation, maintenance, testing, and integration of defense electronics systems, including C4ISR components. This senior-level role provides technical leadership, mentors junior technicians, and ensures complex systems are installed, calibrated, and validated in compliance with DoD standards.

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Lead installation, alignment, calibration, and testing of electronic systems and subsystems in accordance with technical manuals and MIL-STD/DoD standards.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on C4ISR and other mission-critical electronic equipment.
  • Assist engineers in system integration, testing, and evaluation, ensuring design requirements are met.
  • Conduct bench testing, prototype assembly, and data collection to validate new systems or modifications.
  • Execute test plans, document results, and provide detailed performance reports.
  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to support setup, troubleshooting, and validation.
  • Develop and implement tooling and fixtures for testing, assembly, and prototype operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex system faults using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of calibration, repair, and maintenance activities to support system readiness and audits.
  • Provide technical recommendations for design improvements based on testing and field observations.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level technicians in testing procedures, troubleshooting methods, and equipment handling.
  • Support field deployments and rapid-response troubleshooting, ensuring operational readiness during critical missions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project leads, and cross-functional teams to recommend system modifications, upgrades, and process improvements.
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5–10 years of hands-on electronics experience, preferably in a DoD or government contracting environment.
  • Proficiency with C4ISR systems, electronic test equipment, and calibration procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of RF systems, communication electronics, and signal processing.
  • Experience with prototype assembly, bench testing, and fixture/tool development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead junior technicians.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in both lab and field environments.
