Description

ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Network Administrator – Level III in Aurora,CO. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.

The Network Administrator will support daily operations, maintenance, and IT management activities, ensuring the integrity of network security and performance. They will assist with change management, vulnerability mitigation, and testing of IT projects. Additionally, they will provide on-site support for PKI/CAC requirements, respond to monitoring events, and manage Continuity of Operations Disaster Recovery (CODR) processes. Coordination with support services and maintenance of emergency management procedures will also be essential responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and sustain new or existing information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks. Administers day-to-day sustainment, integrity, security and availability of the network.
  • Perform daily performance monitoring, capacity analysis, and maintain security posture of the network.
  • Assist architecture and engineering with evaluation, making recommendations and testing of network hardware and software products.
  • Creates standard operating procedures, maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles, as required, to ensure proper documentation is established for the operational upkeep of the network.
  • Performs network infrastructure maintenance upgrades to ensure a proper security and operational posture is maintained.
  • Provide necessary on-site IT support or system administration for all servers, network equipment, operating systems, and applications on the supported networks at all sites
  • provide Site support to assist with the Management of LAN and WAN connectivity or assistance with Quality of Service (QoS) for applications such as streaming media, Video on Demand (VoD), Video over IP (VOIP), and other Government prioritized traffic as required
  • provide support to all Internet Protocol Version 6 (Ipv6) implementation activities as directed by the Government Task Manager.  The Government will furnish, where required, Ipv6 hardware and software and all non-labor associated items.
  • Assist or perform pre-scheduled maintenance following approved change management procedures.
  • Document all changes using the designated ITSM tool for supported networks, environments, and systems.
  • Use the ITSM tool to document and schedule all changes and downtimes.
  • Conduct maintenance to sustain network security postures and operational readiness, including software/hardware upgrades and preventive services.
  • Schedule maintenance outside of regular business hours.
  • Notify supported network users at least 24 hours in advance of maintenance events affecting critical services
  • Assist with daily operations, maintenance, and IT management activities under the direction of designated IT support groups.
  • Document all changes and utilize approved change management procedures for network security management.
  • Provide input and support for mitigating vulnerability findings from network security scans.
  • Assist with testing and implementation of IT projects and initiatives at supported sites.
  • Provide local on-site support for maintaining DoD Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)/Common Access Card (CAC) requirements.
  • Respond to monitoring events for end-user devices and IT systems using designated monitoring tools.
  • Coordinate with designated support services for IT infrastructure monitoring and response to events.
  • Ensure alignment with the existing Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and manage Continuity of Operations Disaster Recovery (CODR) processes.
  • Assist with periodic testing of COOP efforts and coordinate with the Government Lead to augment existing COOP plans.
  • Maintain a Contingency Operations Plan (COP) outlining emergency management procedures, communication protocols, and points of contact.
