ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Network Engineer III. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.

Join our dynamic team, where you will be crucial in designing, testing, upgrading, and integrating various information networks, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, VoIP, intranets, and extranets, aligning with organizational needs. They will document the engineering process, coordinate network changes, and implement security measures to ensure network integrity. Additionally, they will conduct network modeling and analysis, evaluate emerging technologies, assist with troubleshooting, and handle operational tasks for deployed networks.

Responsibilities:

• Design, test, upgrade and integrate new or existing information networks such as local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Voice over IP (VoIP), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks in accordance with the organization’s business requirements.
• Document all aspects of the engineering process as it relates to build and configuration, testing, and deployment of networks.
• Coordinate changes such as implementation of new networks, upgrades or version increments to existing networks with network administrators and stakeholders.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard new and existing networks.
• Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
• Coordinate with architecture, evaluates new and emerging network technologies, and make recommendations for selection of these products.
• Assist network administrators with complex troubleshooting issues and if needed coordinates vendor engagements to assist in troubleshooting efforts.
• Provide day-to-day operational or administrative duties, as required, for deployed networks in lab or production environments.
