Description

DecisiveInstincts, LLC, is a joint venture (ActioNet and Akamai Intelligence) is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to support the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) in Charleston, SC. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and integrate electrical and electronic systems supporting complex defense and communications programs. This position requires hands-on experience with circuit design, system integration, and hardware testing in accordance with military and industry standards. The role is best suited for an engineer with 3–7 years of experience who thrives in a collaborative, mission-focused environment.

Target Start Date:  November 2025

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and enhance electrical and electronic systems, subsystems, and components in compliance with MIL-STD and IEEE standards
• Perform detailed circuit analysis, modeling, and simulation to validate and optimize designs prior to prototyping
• Create and review schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and system block diagrams for integration and production
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless subsystem integration
• Conduct and participate in design reviews, technical evaluations, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
• Support hardware testing, including EMI/EMC, thermal, reliability, and environmental assessments
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including interface control documents (ICDs), test plans, and technical reports
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and provide corrective actions during system integration and testing
• Contribute to process improvements, ensuring design quality, efficiency, and compliance with program requirements

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution
• 3–7 years of experience in electrical design, testing, and system integration
• Knowledge of MIL-STD, IEEE, and DoD design and testing standards
• Proficiency with electrical design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or similar EDA software
• Experience with circuit simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, LTSpice, MATLAB Simulink)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
