Description

ActioNet is seeking a API Developer II for an immediate, REMOTE opportunity with occasional travel (10%) to the Washington, D.C. area. This role requires U.S. citizenship to be eligible for federal government security clearance.

 

Join our team as a API Developer II (Mid-Level Role), where you’ll play a key role in developing and maintaining APIs for seamless integration and optimal performance. With at least one year of experience, you will collaborate with both front-end and back-end teams to enhance usability and implement critical security measures. This is an excellent opportunity to build on your skills in RESTful API design while gaining exposure to cloud-based APIs and microservices.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain APIs to ensure seamless integration across systems while optimizing performance and functionality.
  • Implement robust security measures and follow industry standards to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with front-end and back-end teams to improve API usability and streamline integration processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any performance issues, ensuring APIs function at their best in production environments.
  • Contribute to the documentation of APIs and integration processes, ensuring clear communication for both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in API development, integration, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in RESTful API design, development, and optimization for high availability and scalability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with best practices in API security, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
  • Experience working with cloud-based APIs and microservices architecture, contributing to scalable and efficient systems.
  • Local candidate based on the East Coast, within commuting distance of Washington, DC
