ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Network Administrator, supporting our Defense unit. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.

Join our dynamic team, where you will play a crucial role in collaborating with Government Support staff to execute system backup and restoration operations. You will develop, maintain, and utilize documented Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) aligned with ITIL and industry best practices to meet application/system owner requirements.

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Deploy and sustain new or existing information networks including local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks.
  • Administer daily sustainment, integrity, security and availability of the network.
  • Daily network performance monitoring, capacity analysis, and maintain security posture.
  • Evaluate, recommend and test network hardware and software.
  • Standard operating procedures, maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Network infrastructure maintenance ensuring proper security and operational posture.
  • On-site IT support and administration for all supported site networks.
Required Job Experience: 
 
  • Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
  • Network configuration management, preparing and updating documentation for existing baseline and changes to the network using ITSM best practices.
  • Management of LAN and WAN connectivity Quality of Service for streaming media, Video on Demand (VoD), Video over IP (VOIP), and other prioritized traffic.
  • Internet Protocol Version 6 implementation.
  • Scheduled maintenance of software and hardware upgrades and patching.
  • Document changes in ITSM tool for supported networks, environments, and systems.
  • Unscheduled maintenance response to outages, degradation, emergencies, or vulnerabilities.
  • After-hours incident, event monitoring and on-call engineering support.
  • Syslog and event log review, backup verification, and physical inspection.
  • Ensure integrity of the network and identify any potential problems.
  • Test patches and security updates in a non-production environment.
  • Mitigate vulnerabilities and apply remediation.
  • Local support of Public Key Infrastructure / Common Access Card system.
  • Install performance monitoring using MECM, Splunk, Tanium, or other systems.
  • Monitor and respond to events of water/moisture, power, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, space, cabling, fiber, network management software, and outages.
  • Ensure disaster recovery actions are in place, tested, backed up and recoverable.
 
Degree (Required): Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalency.
 
Certification (Required):
  • CompTIA Security + CE or one of the following:
  • CCNA Security
  • CySA+
  • GICSP
  • GSEC
  • SSCP
