Senior Manager Product Safety & Global Product Compliance (m/f/d)

What awaits you:

  • Execute strategies and processes to drive product compliance to product safety and global regulatory requirements and to be consistently recognized as the subject matter expert for Europe.
  • Stay current regarding all new and emerging global product requirements for the EU, UK and our EU Export Markets. In collaboration with our Legal department to proactively identify and address potential compliance risks. Implement compliance action plans accordingly working with and/or leading internal business partners.
  • Support implementing new product safety and/or product regulatory requirements, assess impact of standards and regulatory changes and lead training initiatives on compliance and product testing programs for internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Oversees and supports projects and corrective actions for internal business partner’s products. Manage/oversee activities related to products safety incidents including working with outside laboratories/consultants and/or conducting internal testing. Recommend course of action in response to compliance failures and support all product recall efforts with internal and external partners.
  • Provide support to product development teams by identifying mitigation actions for regulatory, product safety and EMC non-compliances.
  • Implement and manage product compliance programs, policies and procedures and ensure sku-level compliance with all applicable international product regulatory requirements and standards including but not limited to LVD, REACH, RoHS, WEEE, CPSIA, NRTL, California Proposition 65, FCC and ACCO’s RSL.
  • Plan with Director in setting departmental goals, handle ad-hoc analytics & business intelligence projects, institute and implement supporting plans and projects

With this you convince us:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or legal field is required. An Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance product and issues management, both domestic and international. Consumer products industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience leading and hands-on management of a product safety and/or regulatory product compliance department for a global industry is desired.
  • Strong working knowledge of UL/IEC/EN 60950, 62368-1 and/or 60335-1 series safety standards and of safety organizations.
  • Knowledge of EMC requirements and problem-solving track record a plus.
  • Strong ability to assess product safety and regulatory requirements, form an opinion and communicate effectively with internal business partner(s), test laboratories, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical issues. Ability to apply business acumen to compliance strategy.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of global environmental regulatory compliance organizations and trends, including policies and procedures to assure compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations and third-party guidelines.
  • Strong documentation, organization and data analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated successful project management experience is required.
  • Proven ability to multitask and be a self-starter with an ability to work across divisions and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated program leadership and cross-functional collaboration with internal and external teams
  • Must be proficient in German and English.
  • Approximately 10% travel (domestic and international)
