Location: Middletown, NY
Salary Range: $62,500 - 68,000
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM, On-Site.
OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
The Accounting Manager is in charge of financial statements, accounts receivable management, inventory management, month end closing journal entries, as well as performing account reconciliations on a monthly and yearly basis, and interpreting general ledger accounts. Also, qualified candidates will possess supervisory experience with the ability to perform and write formal staff evaluations, provide feedback to the staff, and offer mentoring opportunities to allow staff to grow and achieve agency outcomes.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Be accountable for the training and retention of staff
- Directly prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, and annual budgets
- Use accounting concepts to prepare monthly journal entries and various detailed analysis with special attention to inventory transactions, and oversight of cycle and annual physical counts
- Ensure that month and year end reports and financial statements are complete, accurate, and delivered in a timely manner.
- Manipulate multiple financial and business systems to extract data ensuring transactions are accurately recorded
- Be responsible for the performance of account reconciliations on a monthly and yearly basis in the identified areas of responsibility
- Review account reconciliations performed by subordinate staff for accuracy
- Ability to interpret general ledger accounts and statements as needed and work with staff on determining necessary journal entry adjustments sharing and teaching of accounting concepts
- Utilize accounting and computer skills to train and develop subordinate staff
- Write formal staff evaluations, provide feedback to the staff, and offer mentoring opportunities to allow staff to grow and achieve
- Responsible for communicating effectively with staff and leaders on a consistent basis
- Implement and ensure compliance with Access: Supports for Living procedural and general guidelines for the position
- Leadership and oversite responsibility for our Industrial Operations area.
- Perform other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Advanced computer skills which include knowledge of Excel, Word and database software, Ceridian Dayforce preferred
- Applicants will possess intermediate computer skills with demonstrated strengths in Excel
- Applicants will be organized and precise
- Applicants must be able to lead and work effectively in a team environment and independently when necessary
- Bilingual English and Spanish speaking a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years related Finance experience required
- 3 years of progressive related supervisory experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related required, masters preferred
- Experience with inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
- MAS 200 experience a plus
