Pay Rate: $22.00   
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM (40hrs)
NO WEEKENDS + Benefit Package. 

      

Job Description:       

We are looking for a skilled individual to join our growing team! The primary responsibilities of the FI Coordinator is to provide support and guidance to individuals who self-direct their services through their self-directed budget.  Responsibilities include active participation in the person-centered planning process and oversight of the self-directed budget once approved. The FI Coordinator will work with participants, families and vendors to ensure services and reimbursements of funds adhere to OPWDD guidance and regulations, and are processed in a timely and appropriate manner. The ideal person will possess exceptional communication skills and will be the initial point of contact for daily inquiries, requests and follow- ups by individuals, families, self-hired workers, care managers and brokers. The FI Coordinator will participate in Life Plan meetings and Circle of Support meetings and must be able to provide guidance on OPWDD regulations around all aspects of the self-direction budget. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a proactive attitude who can anticipate the needs of the department and have a professional, friendly and enthusiastic attitude. Must be proficient at multi-tasking as this position requires great attention to detail.       

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:      

    • Review and implement start-up budgets, full budgets and budget amendments, communicating budget changes to agency departments including human resources, finance and compliance.
    • Complete training for new self-hired staff; inform staff when they are cleared to work; Ensure completion of mandated annual agency trainings.
    • Perform OPWDD and agency compliance review of Life Plans including facilitating any corrections needed to ensure all billing requirements
    • Provide administrative support including data entry and entering information into CHOICES system (ex. DDP1s)
    • Assist the participant to manage staff (in conjunction with Human Resources/Payroll Departments) by processing time sheets and service records
    • Ensuring timely staff payments
    • Participate in annual and/or semi-annual Life Plan meetings to discuss issues related to self-directed staffing and/or supports and budget expenditures as required or as requested.
    • Participate in Circle of Support (COS) Planning Team meetings as a budget resources, as needed, or as requested.
    • Perform monthly financial and utilization review for individuals on assigned caseload, work closely with support brokers to rectify items in a timely manner
    • Attend regularly scheduled OPWDD trainings both in-person and remotely
    • Incident management – reporting/investigating related to self-hired staff as required.
    • Maintain communication with OPWDD regarding participant and services.
    • Travel when necessary to address the responsibilities listed.
    • Provide training to the participant on his/her employer responsibilities by:
    • Providing the participant with orientation and support in hiring staff (including assistance with job descriptions), staff management performance evaluations, staff conflict resolution.
    • Reviewing with the participant the FI’s employment and conduct policies that would apply to self-hired staff.
    • Discussing use of overtime with participant, e.g. budget consequences
    • Assist the participant manage staff by:
      • Implementing hiring and discharge decisions for self-directed staff.
      • Providing enrollment/employment package for all new self-directed staff.
      • Providing self-hired staff with OPWDD approved basic agency mandatory trainings (e.g. incident reporting, sexual harassment, OSHA, etc).
      • Providing other trainings for self-hired staff as agreed upon with participant.
      • Assisting the participant with budget management.​

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:      
  • Bilingual Spanish / English, strongly preferred
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills - ability to communicate and problem solve with co-workers in a positive and professional manner
  • Must have excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Must have proficiency in use of technology/computers including use of Word, Excel, email
  • Must have the ability to work as part of an integrated team
  • Must demonstrate a general knowledge of services provided

Education/Experience:      

    • Experience working in the intellectual and developmental disabilities field is preferred
    • Two-year, proven work experience related to clerical or office work is preferred
    • HS Diploma or equivalency degree
    • Experience with Electronic Health Records (Preferred)
    PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:      
    • Must be capable to sit or stand in front of a computer for long-periods of time
    • Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet.
