Teacher's Assistant Temporary

Location: Peekskill, NY 10566
Hours: 8:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday - July 1st-August 8th
Pay Rate: $16.00-17.00 Depending on experience and education

Basic understanding of child development and children with special needs
Responsibilities:
Assist Head Teacher in all phases of running the program
Participate in meeting the goals and objectives of the child as noted on IEP
Responsible and dependable pattern of attendance
Present appropriate professional appearance
Engage in frequent verbal interactions with children
Utilize positive redirection to manage challenging behaviors
Participate in reflective supervision
Assist children in toileting, including changing diapers
Participate in staff meetings and case presentations
Assist in other classrooms if temporary staffing adjustment is needed
Continue in professional development including 30 hrs per License cycle of OCFS training

Qualifications: High School Diploma and 6 college credits, NYSED Assistant Teacher Certification (or working towards)
