Job Title: Food Service Worker
Location: West Point, NY
Organization: Supports for Living Inc.
Rate $17.75/hr
Hours: Early Morning (5:30am-2pm) at least one weekend shift required
Position Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable team members to provide excellent customer service and serve nutritious meals to USMAPS students in a fast-paced environment. This role is flexible, inclusive, and ideal for individuals who want to learn, grow their skills, and enjoy a rewarding work experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet students politely and assist with meal service.
- Prepare, assemble, and serve food and beverages safely and efficiently.
- Follow all hygiene, food handling, and safety procedures (including ServSafe guidelines if certified, and Army Regulations).
- Ensure proper food storage, handling, and serving sizes according to production sheets.
- Record food requisitions and serving line temperatures accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly kitchen and dining area.
- Supervise and assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, dishes, silverware, and utensils.
- Report accidents, behavioral issues, or poor-quality food to the Food Services Supervisor or Director.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for food service, safety, and waste disposal (OSHA).
- Work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing demands.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Services Supervisor/Director.
Qualifications:
- Ability to follow specific verbal or written instructions (i.e. Menu/task instruction sheet/chemical sheets)
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Previous food service experience preferred (food prep, handling, serving, etc).
- Commitment to hygiene and safety standards.
- Neat appearance and professional behavior.
- Good team spirit and respectful communication with coworkers and supervisors.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Prior ServSafe certification is a plus.

- Must be capable of standing for long-periods of time
- Able to work in varying temperatures (Heat of the kitchen/Cold of freezer)
- Must be capable to move throughout work day
- Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet
- Must be able to move in tight spaces
- Occasional lifting of >25 pounds
