Compensation: +$180,000-$225,000

About NYIN
The New York Integrated Network (NYIN) is a nonprofit collaborative of 14 leading provider agencies serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across the NY metro region. With a combined revenue exceeding $2 billion and a workforce of over 20,000, the Executive Director (ED) can impact the lives of 30,000+ individuals with disabilities. The ED is dedicated to building a forward-thinking, mission-aligned system of care that is policy-smart, operationally eficient, and people-centered.
Position Summary
The Executive Director (ED) will be a bold, strategic leader who advances the interests of member agencies by improving care, cultivating innovative service models, and building the next generation of leaders in the IDD field. Unlike a traditional trade association, NYIN is a collaborative of strong, highly-respected provider agencies that leverages its collective scale and expertise to test new approaches, embrace calculated risks, and shape the future of services for people with IDD. The ED must embrace the unique challenges of growing a high-impact, networked organization. They will translate vision into action, using data to inform decisions and advocacy, strengthening collaboration among members, and positioning NYIN as a national model for innovation in human services.
Key Responsibilities
Mission & Strategy Leadership
- With strategic direction the NYIN Board, lead the development of shared top priorities across member agencies.
- Translate strategic goals and vision into actionable plans with measurable outcomes.
- Lead long-range planning efforts and scenario modeling to prepare for future challenges and opportunities.
- Anticipate industry and policy shifts, positioning NYIN to innovate ahead of change.
Organizational & Administrative Leadership
- Manage governance, compliance, and fiscal stewardship.
- Establish efficient systems for tracking performance and scaling successful pilots.
- Identify opportunities and facilitate policy response and coordination among member agencies, ensuring unified positions and timely feedback.
- Coordinate schedules, logistics, and communications across a multi-agency collaborative.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit governance standards and grant obligations.
- Secure resources through grants, partnerships, and shared funding strategies.
Relationship Building & Member Engagement
- Foster a culture of trust, transparency, collaboration and mutual respect across all member agencies.
- Serve as a convener of members and partners to test bold ideas and launch joint projects.
- Cultivate alignment among CEOs and senior leaders, ensuring collaboration around shared initiatives, including the identification and development of collaborative projects that enhance revenue streams, workforce support and/or quality and scope of services.
- Engage regularly with member CEOs and senior staf to ensure alignment and responsiveness to shared priorities,
- Build relationships with funders, government policymakers, and research partners to expand NYIN’s influence and impact.
Innovation and Data-Driven Practice
- Use data and outcomes to inform decision-making, evaluate new models, and strengthen advocacy.
- Design and manage innovation labs, pilot projects, and collaborative ventures.
- Build NYIN’s reputation as a risk-tolerant think-tank in the IDD sector.
- Identify key trends in the healthcare and social services sectors and recommend proactive strategies for adaptation.
Qualifications
Experience: Bachelor’s degree in human services or health field (Master’s Degree preferred). At least 10 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, program development, fundraising, or related fields.
The selected candidate will work under the employment of Access: Supports for Living, and be fully leased to NYIN. Access is a member of NYIN, and acts as a fiscal intermediary for payroll and benefit purposes. Leadership and guidance comes from the Board of Directors of NYIN and its membership leaders.
