Job Title: Accounts Receivable Supervisor
Location: Middletown, NY (On-site)
Rate: $68,000/yr
Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm
 
OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
We are currently seeking a Finance professional to fill a supervisory role within our Department. This supervisory position is in charge of various A/R and billing responsibilities.  The person will be responsible for account analysis and for the posting, tracking, and reporting of transactions on a regular basis, completing corrections for denied claims to ensure collection in a timely manner, performing account reconciliations on a monthly and yearly basis, and entering and interpreting general ledger accounts and statements.   Also, qualified candidates will possess supervisory experience with the ability to perform and write formal staff evaluations, provide feedback to the staff, and offer mentoring opportunities to allow staff to grow and achieve agency outcomes 
 
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervisory position is in charge of various A/R and billing responsibilities. 
  • Responsible for posting, tracking, and reporting of transactions on a regular basis, completing corrections for denied claims to ensure collection in a timely manner
  • Perform account analysis including account reconciliations on a monthly and yearly basis
  • Using accounting concepts and skills completes general ledger recurring journal entries on a monthly basis and as needed basis. 
  • Ability to interpret general ledger accounts and statements as needed and work with staff on determining necessary journal entry adjustments sharing and teaching accounting concepts.
  • Responsible for review of outstanding receivables including evaluation of monthly/quarterly aging reports and monitoring collectability.
  • Possess intermediate computer skills which include knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, database software and file maintenance.  Responsible to create and design useful spreadsheets & databases independently and utilizes skills to assist and train others.
  • Write formal staff evaluations, provide feedback to the staff, and offer mentoring opportunities to allow staff to grow and achieve agency outcomes.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with staff and leaders on a consistent basis.
  • Lead and work effectively in a team environment and independently when necessary.
 
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
  • 3-5 years related Finance experience required
  • Some progressive related supervisory experience required
  • Medical billing experience
  • Applicants will possess intermediate computer skills with demonstrated strengths in Excel and database software
  • Applicants will be organized and precise
  • Applicants must be able to lead and work effectively in a team environment and independently when necessary
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years).  Bachelor’s degree preferred
