Rate: $72,000-$75,000 (Dependend upon Experience)
Facilities Manager
Reports To: Director of Facilities and Manufacturing
SUMMARY OF PROFESSIONAL FUNCTION
The Facilities Manager leads a team of 16 diverse employees with varying abilities that support the mission of the US Military Academy Prep School at West Point to prepare cadet candidates for entrance to West Point Academy. The team maintains a 26 acre plot consisting of 258,000 square feet of dorms, classrooms, athletic facilities, 4 synthetic turf fields, ¼ mile track, and a dining hall. They are responsible for all physical plants, internal and external, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and lifesaving systems; landscape/hardscape/athletic synthetic fields; utilities; work order prioritization and response time utilizing CMMS system; and 24/7 monitoring of critical building systems utilizing a Building Management System. This includes oversite of Quality and all quality initiatives as well as safety and security.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead development and implementation of USMAPS budget to maximize revenue and control expenses. Review analysis activities, cost, operations and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives and amend direction and strategies as required.
- Network to maintain key relationships with commercial and government partners.
- Responsible for strategies and outcomes of training excellence, development and engagement of staff to promote bench strength and achieve retention strategies while supporting staff to achieve corporate goals.
- Lead customer service initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction as an element of our key business leverage strategy.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leadership: Leads 16 member team of USMAPS facility services, grounds maintenance and Total Facilities management
2. Budget Responsibilities: Overall responsibilities for USMAPS budget and monitoring data for trend analysis regarding budgetary cost control parameters.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes and supports Vision and Staff retention events and activities
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
The ideal candidate must have seven years of experience in facilities management as well as three to five years of supervisory experience. A four-year degree in a related field is preferred. Continuing education will be expected.
PREREQUISITES FOR THE JOB
- Strategic Planning ability resulting in delivering exceptional customer service results-while providing support other leaders at USMAPS and facilities throughout the organizational structure as necessary.
- Provides oversight and direction to team in areas of coaching, mentoring, problem solving and development
- Demonstrated expertise and positive outcomes in the development and implementation of budgets including effecting cost containment strategies in areas of significance including payroll, employee relations, retention, productivity and key line expenses.
- Proven ability of excellence in training, developing, and engaging staff to establish bench strength strategies and excellence service delivery with history of demonstrated outcomes of supporting staff to achieve results.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation and ability to influence customers, vendors, team and others to support business objectives and achieve goals
