Job Description: Training Specialist II


The Training Specialist for Mergers & Acquisitions integration is responsible for the initial EMR and related process education of non-clinical staff before, during, and after an integration.  This may include assisting in other EMR related education/support for clinical back-office and field staff as it relates to systems usage.  This position will assist with instructional design, curriculum development, training facilitation, and project management.  80% of the time or greater will be devoted to training and supporting staff before, during, and after an integration.  The Training Specialist will ensure that staff are prepared to effectively manage and fulfill their job duties within the EMR that meet/exceed quality, customer service and regulatory expectations.  The Training Specialist may be asked to float between offices during an integration, identify potential learning gaps, and provide ongoing targeted education for staff.  The Training specialist will be required to travel and be onsite during the designated period of pre, during, and post integration.  This position is 80% travel or greater based on need.  When not onsite the Training Specialist may be asked to assist with the integration hotline.  The other 20% of the time will be spent designing and developing curriculum and/or facilitating various courses either on-line or in-person and other duties as delegated. 


  • Instructs and supports non-clinical staff on proper use of EMR software for mergers and acquisitions as well as transitions. Provides training in agencies as assigned.
  • Acts as a field Tablet super user and back-office superuser for systems purposes – any clinical questions would be directed to the clinical team.
  • Assists as needed in utilizing the agency’s clinical software solution to plan, coordinate, and complete tasks that affect the delivery of patient care.
  • Helps support and submit edits to training calendar for specified M&A projects.
  • As needed works with corporate Education and Development staff to develop continuing education programs acceptable to meet requirements of the company.
  • Works in conjunction with Learning & Development and Clinical Resources in the development, implementation, and maintenance of training and in services for non-clinical staff, including specific training needs identified in action plans
  • Design, develop and facilitate interactive and engaging programs for classroom, virtual classroom, online and self-paced learning
  • Write, edit, and format documentation and materials needed for each program including facilitator scripts/guide, training manuals, storyboards, service guides, help documentation, tutorials, webinars, videos, and other training media as needed
  • Design and develop end-user documentation and supporting materials that provide users with direction about systems, processes, and work instructions
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to determine needs, develop course content and evaluate effectiveness of training programs
  • Collaborate with other departments and SMEs via professional communication channels to build relationships, meet project timelines, create materials, and develop a basic understanding of the subject matter
  • Deliver on all stages of a project from start-up to finish within the established timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects to successful completion
  • Deliver content in Train-the-Trainer format and assist with training internal staff as requested
  • Participate in all aspects of the instructional design process – analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate
  • Evaluate effectiveness of training programs through surveys, interviews, and analysis with internal and external stakeholders
  • Keep current on healthcare trends and legislative developments that impact the design and administration of our services
  • Perform other tasks on projects as needed/assigned by management to make AccentCare the best in our business

  • 2 years HCHB experience required
  • Previous experience in home health or hospice strongly preferred
  • 2-5 years of training and instructional design or content development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of Healthcare experience required
  • Must be a licensed driver
  • Position requires CV-19 Vaccination as a condition of employment.


  • Experience with on-site Instructor Led Training and on-site support
  • Experience in online training programs and methods, including delivering webinars
  • Exceptional presentation skills and technology savvy and skilled in Microsoft, PowerPoint, Word, and multimedia
  • Able to quickly learn new product releases and industry trends
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with quick turnaround times
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to drive results and get the job done
  • Positive attitude and a strong track record of maintaining composure during challenging situations
  • 80% travel or greater; be able to present remotely or on location
  • Proficiency in utilizing instructional design methodologies and adult learning theories
  • Demonstrate ability to develop detailed storyboards, scripts and building online learning courseware
