Position: Bilingual Employment Specialist NEH Yonkers NY
Reports to: Area Operations Director
Job Description/Requirements:
- Must be Bilingual Spanish/English speaking
As an Employment Specialist you will:
- Coordinate and manage the hiring process for paraprofessional field personnel from interview through hiring including but not limited to:
- Application
- Certificate Verification
- Criminal History Record Check
- Personnel file preparation
- Pre-employment medical and laboratory requirements, i.e., receiving required documentation and/or reports for subsequent clinical review
- Reference letter verification (2)
- Scheduling competency / skills testing
- Be responsible for non clinical Agency orientation including but not limited to I-9 process, W-4 process, identification card and picture, dress code, time and attendance policy and procedure, call off procedure, job description, confidentiality/HIPAA, 24/7 communication with the Agency, reporting problems, pay schedule and documentation requirements, annual requirements, etc.
- Attend community job fairs to market Agency employment opportunities.
- Reach out to applicable community resources to recruit appropriate personnel.
- Work directly with Nurse Instructor for In-services, PCA upgrades and CNA transitions including but not limited to:
- Applicant pre-screening, testing and interviewing
- Nurse Instructor assistance in proctoring for written examinations and scoring non narrative test answers
- Personnel file preparation
- Preparing classroom paperwork for Instructor such as copying handouts
- Be responsible for the coordination and management of field staff compliance consistent with New York State regulations and/or licensure requirements including but not limited to monitoring, tracking, scheduling and document filing.
- Be responsible for internal auditing of personnel files consistent with the Agency’s policy and procedure, to participate in scheduled contract vendor audits, and NYSDH and JCAHO surveys..
Requirements of Qualified Candidates:
- High School Degree
- 1 - 2 yrs Employment Experience
- Home Health or Hospital Experience Preferred
- Must be Bilingual Spanish/English speaking
