Abt Electronics has an immediate opening for the position of Garage Door Installer. We are a family owned company who has been in business since 1936 and continues to experience strong growth year after year.  Abt Electronics specializes in electronics, appliance & furniture sales, delivery, installation and servicing all the products we sell. We are a perennial winner of the Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplace Award.  We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible & friendly Garage Door Installer to join our team.  If this is you, we want to hear from you!

In addition, must be comfortable contributing/working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and fun work environment.  Primary duties include:

• Delivering and installing garage doors and openers and a variety of appliances, electronics and into customers’ homes & businesses
• Moving and lifting heavy products safely using a variety of equipment (dollies, straps, etc.)
• Light carpentry and electrical work
• Processing electronic delivery tickets
• Must have two years’ field experience
• Must be able to trouble shoot and service/repair garage doors and openers
• Must be able to replace garage door springs

Job Requirements:

• Pass a DOT physical & drug test
• Valid Driver’s License
• Team oriented
• Able to participate daily in physical labor
• Saturdays required
• Be friendly & respectful towards customers and their property
• Mechanical aptitude
• Problem-solving skills
• General knowledge of technology
