Absolute Software is looking for a Jr. Sales Engineer (SE) for Channel.  You will be expected to provide technical sales support as a solution expert within our fast-growing world-wide business. The SE is a highly technical sales professional who is responsible for working with Absolute Channel Managers, our OEM partner Account Executives (AEs), and Absolute AEs to drive significant growth and retention.

What We’re Looking For:

The Channel Sales Engineer (SE) supports the Channel team with the technical sales process, primarily during the discovery and validation stages of the sales process. The SE is a technical evangelist for our software platform, representing the company with existing sales teams, potential partners, and events.

You are skilled at performing detailed discovery that uncovers the customers’ current state and negative consequences, understanding their desired future state and positive business outcomes, and positioning technical solutions that provide real business value. You can tailor demonstrations to align with the discovered pain or just main feature demos and training. You can assist the OEM Sales Teams to plan a solution strongly aligned with the customer needs and delivers quantifiable business value when they choose Absolute. You can handle objections while remaining focused on the important differentiators. Finally, you can effectively build technical champions inside the OEM Sales and Field Engineer organizations and operate independently of, but in partnership with the Absolute Channel Managers.

You will be expected to quickly come up to speed on our product offerings, both the Absolute product suite (Visibility, Control, and Resilience) as well as the NetMotion product suite (Mobility and MobileIQ). Your deep product knowledge, as well as in-depth knowledge of security, networking, and operating systems will help you to effectively position our products, while also helping to solve difficult technical problems for potential customers during pre-sales presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations.
Training the trainers and enabling OEM Sales teams will be a primary focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with your Channel Managers to provide timely and thorough answers to technical questions regarding all Absolute products and features.
  • Deliver tailored technical sales presentations and demonstrations to our OEM Sales partners
  • Working with your leadership, communicate feature requests and product ideas, backed by data from your OEM engagements, into product management.

What You Will Need:

  • Experience with complex technical sales cycles
  • Experience supporting partners with training including spoken and written communications
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to all levels of people, from IT and Security managers to CIOs as well as OEM Sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, including the firmware and boot process

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with programming or scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash
  • Experience with SQL and Mongo database queries
  • Experience in IT or Security operations
