The Deal Strategy Associate supports the structuring, analysis, and execution of complex customer transactions while partnering closely with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams. This role focuses on analyzing deal economics, reviewing contractual terms, and developing scalable frameworks that improve deal quality, velocity, and financial outcomes.
 
The Deal Strategy Associate plays a key role in evaluating non-standard deal structures, building deal scoring methodologies, and providing financial insights that support sound business decisions. This position combines strong financial analysis with commercial deal support to ensure transactions align with company pricing strategy, revenue goals, and risk guidelines.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Deal Strategy & Execution 
    • Analyze and support the structuring of complex or non-standard customer transactions, ensuring alignment with company pricing policies and revenue objectives.
    • Review deal economics including pricing structure, discount levels, payment terms, and contract duration to evaluate financial impact and risk.
    • Conduct contract review and analysis of customer order forms and commercial terms in partnership with Legal and Sales teams.
    • Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to support negotiations and deal structuring decisions.
    • Support escalation and review processes for non-standard or high-value deals by preparing financial and operational insights.
    • Develop documentation and analysis that helps Sales teams effectively position and close complex deals.
  • Deal Analytics & Scoring 
    • Design, build, and maintain deal scoring frameworks that evaluate transactions based on profitability, risk, discount levels, contract structure, and strategic value.
    • Analyze trends in deal structures, pricing, and contract terms to identify opportunities for improvement in deal strategy.
    • Build financial models and analytical tools that provide visibility into deal performance and profitability.
    • Develop dashboards and reporting that track deal metrics such as discount levels, cycle time, contract value, and margin impact.
    • Provide data-driven recommendations that improve deal quality and support scalable sales processes.
  • Financial Planning & Business Analysis 
    • Analyze financial and operating results related to sales performance and deal activity to improve forecasting visibility and accuracy.
    • Support the preparation of financial reports, forecasts, and analytical materials for senior leadership.
    • Evaluate the financial implications of new products, pricing strategies, operating models, and commercial programs.
    • Assist with financial modeling related to revenue, margins, and contract structures.
    • Contribute to ad-hoc financial analysis and presentations used for internal planning and executive decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration 
    • Partner with Sales, Legal, Finance, Product, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Order Management and Accounting teams to ensure smooth deal execution from proposal through contract.
    • Support the quote-to-cash process by providing financial analysis and deal insights during transaction review.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve deal review processes, tools, and approval workflows.
    • Assist in developing internal documentation and guidance that helps Sales teams navigate pricing, deal structures, and contract considerations.
  • Process Improvement & Operational Support 
    • Build financial tools, models, and dashboards that improve transparency into deal performance and operational metrics.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline deal review processes and automate analysis where possible.
    • Maintain documentation and analytical resources used in evaluating deal structures and contract economics.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency across the deal lifecycle.
    • Protect the security and privacy of Absolute and its customers 
    • Other duties as assigned by management 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA, JD, CPA, or CFA a plus.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in corporate finance, deal desk, strategic finance, or financial consulting, preferably within a SaaS or technology environment.
  • Experience analyzing commercial contracts, pricing structures, and deal economics.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including experience with revenue, margin, and profitability analysis.
  • Experience building analytical frameworks or scoring models used to evaluate business opportunities or transactions.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling; familiarity with BI and planning tools (e.g., Power BI, NetSuite, etc.) preferred.
  • Advanced Salesforce skills including but not limited to advanced reporting
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to evaluate financial and contractual data simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial insights clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to independently analyze issues and recommend solutions.
Pay Transparency: The base pay range for this position is from CAD $100,000-110,000 annually; the base pay offered is determined by the market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our annual bonus program.
