We are looking for a strategic, leads from the front, leader for our global Sales Engineering (SE) team to lead and scale our Sales Engineering capabilities as we go through a period of transformation and growth.  This individual will report to the Chief Revenue Officer and be responsible for leading and evolving our Sales Engineering teams to the next level.  The role includes the integration and leadership of our newly acquired team from Netmotion.

The team you will lead has a broad range of cross-platform technical support, PC OEM endpoint and cybersecurity expertise. The SE’s are part of a solution selling team on assigned opportunities, delivering high-quality technical consultation and support throughout the sales cycle. This team regularly engages with assigned strategic customers & our Channel partners (PC OEMs and VARs) to provide quarterly technical reviews, product updates, and consultation to help sustain and expand our footprint in these accounts.   

The VP, Sales Engineering will be a highly effective executive partner operating cross functionally with key stakeholders in Sales, Engineering and Product to understand requirements, identify areas for improvement and design solutions to drive internal decision making.  The leader for this function gets excited about rolling up their sleeves as an action oriented leader who is looking to add value to our evolving technical capabilities whilst underpinning recommendations and initiatives with commercial acumen.

Accountabilities Will Include:

  • Manage the vision & strategy for the Sales Engineering function
  • Develop & maintain a world class Systems Engineer (SE) team, which helps support the customer journey from pre-sales, through to onboarding and post sales.
    • Work with PC OEM and security VAR partners to educate and make proficient their ability to sell our solutions
    • Attract and retain top tier talent across all our geographic locations
  • Partner with Sales leaders to align our technical team with our go-to-market strategy.
  • Drive a culture of excellence and continuous improvement and learning which includes adopting cybersecurity best practices and certifications
  • Assist with training new members to support on demos, POCs, POVs and RFPs
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by working cross functionally to ensure a smooth experience through the entire process
  • Act as a key contact to other sr. Leaders in the GTM team to ensure Absolute continues to maintain strong customer and partner ecosystem
  • Work with and deliver support to our customers key decision makers
  • Maintain and refresh core processes, surrounding demos, POCs, POVs and RFPs
  • Contribute to Absolute’s internal visibility, corporate knowledge, and best practices by enhancing sales information, documentation, business processes, and methodologies.
  • Provide feedback to Product Management and Development teams on feature enhancements
  • Assist SEs in working with other customer and internal Support/R&D organizations.
  • Travel expected up to 50% (approx.)

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience of managing a global & world-class Systems Engineering team
  • Demonstrable technical acumen
  • The ability to coach and lead this global SE team and constantly strive for excellence
  • Proven professionalism and experience presenting to Security professionals and key business leaders
  • Previous experience providing technical sales support for SaaS/Cloud based technology solutions
  • Experience with software deployment technologies, and a strong understanding of corporate networking environments and configurations.
  • Domain knowledge of IT End Point Security and Management products and best practices, such as anti-virus, encryption, DLP
  • Setup/administration skills for operating systems including Microsoft Windows, and Mac O/S.
  • Architectural and configuration knowledge of TCP/IP based networks and perimeter network devices (router, firewall, proxy servers, IDS, IPS)
  • Formal technical training expected, especially in areas of network, security and end point administration
