Direct Support Professional - Beacon, NY
 
Pay Rate: $20.25 to $20.75 per hour 
Locations: Multiple programs across Westchester County, Putnam County, and Dutchess County
Schedule: Guaranteed set fulltime schedules available including first, second, and third shifts, as well as weekends.

As a Direct Care Professional, you will support adults with intellectual, developmental, physical, and behavioral health needs in both residential and community settings. You will play an important role in helping individuals build life skills, achieve personal goals, and remain active in their communities while being part of a supportive and mission driven team. 
 
What You Will Do 
  • Provided hands-on support for individuals with medical and light behavioral needs in a 14-bed medically frail group home
  • Assisted adults with disabilities with daily living activities including cooking, cleaning, hygiene, dressing, mobility, and personal care
  • Supported individuals with bathing, toileting, medication reminders, meal planning, budgeting, communication, and independent living skills
  • Provided transportation to medical appointments, errands, community outings, and recreational activities
  • Encouraged participation in volunteer opportunities, fitness programs, Special Olympics, sporting events, crafts, and other community-based activities
  • Implemented positive behavior reinforcement strategies and utilized de-escalation techniques when needed
  • Assisted with goal planning, progress tracking, socialization, and skill development to support individualized care plans
  • Collaborated with an interdisciplinary team including nurses, behaviorists, nutritionists, and other clinical professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Maintained accurate electronic and physical documentation of daily case notes, services provided, progress, and activities
What You Will Need 
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation 
  • Willingness to learn with no prior experience required. Paid training is provided 
  • Compassionate, dependable, and motivated to support others
