Maple Avenue is an ICF located near the bustling downtown Bethel.  The house consists of six individuals three TBI’s and three DD’s five of them being males and one female. Maple is one of our programs that is truly striving to cultivate a family feel and a welcoming atmosphere in the program for both the individuals that live there, and the staff that work there. Both individuals and staff alike at Maple enjoy a good laugh and with a young and energetic staff Maple makes frequent trips to various restaurants, fairs, carnivals and other thrifty outings. 

Overview of the 1st Shift

There is two direct care staff on every morning.   During the week they are in charge of breakfast, meds, prepping and grooming the individuals, any AM programs the individuals may have and getting them ready for their day. Two of the gentlemen living in the home attend a Day Work program at Belimo Air Controls 4 days a week from 9am-2pm. After breakfast, a staff drives them to work, and later picks them up to bring them home. The other 4 individuals remaining in the home keep their day occupied by participating in Leisure Activities with their peers, as well as working on their skills programs & often going on local trips in town for lunch. Mornings are busy but definitely fun and fast paced.

Overview of 2nd Shift

There is generally two direct care staff on every evening. Then they prep the lunches with the individuals for the next day. After dinner staff helps the individuals with their program, meds, and bedtime routines.  Maple evening staff is keen on outings or house movie time is which are always thoroughly enjoyable.

Overview of 3rd Shift

There is one staff to work the overnight.  This staff is in charge of cleaning, toileting and general care for the individuals.  Three individuals need to be toileting /tripped during the night.  Then the staff is to assist the female and one of the male individuals with their showers in the morning.  If they have time they are to start breakfast.  The house is stocked with alarms and monitors to ensure that the staff is aware of what the individuals are doing and where they are, making overnight work at Maple less stressful.

Maple is an all-around great house with individuals who love spending one on one time with new and interesting staff.  The house staff and supervisors are always willing to help and teach new employees to make sure that they can be the best that they can be when providing care for not only Maple individuals but for all of Ability Beyond’s individuals.
