Abbott Construction has an opening for a Superintendent. The Superintendent runs the field operations in the delivery of a project through final completion and closeout. The Superintendent is responsible for directing the field in alignment with our core values in terms that are clearly established on a job-by-job basis.
Primary Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for field personnel assignments and staffing needs for projects
- Safety and primary leader of the jobsite
- Responsible for development of field management staff including foremen, carpenters, and laborers that will support our long term corporate growth and vision
- Provide review and oversight for project schedule development and updates of those schedules
- Provide senior overview and input for project schedules during project acquisition efforts and execution of work
- Review project budgets with field personnel and coach teams on how to meet or beat available budgets
- Coach teams on how to effectively track and monitor field production
- Review constructability means and methods with project teams to help resolve challenges
- Maintain regular on-site interface with project teams to provide support, guidance, and evaluate risk
- Participate in pre-construction and other project acquisition initiatives
- Perform hiring and firing decisions of field staff with support of HR
- Provide mentorship and guidance regarding field challenges for all projects in the region
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a drug test and comply with our company vehicle safety program
- Minimum 15 years’ experience
- Firm understanding of all project documents, schedule, quality control, and safety requirements
- Experience managing skilled labor
- The full salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. This position is eligible for a target bonus.
