Main Duties:


  • To manage and control the BD Accounts inbox.
  • To ensure orders, GRN’s and supplier invoices are processed and recorded within the time frame set by the Finance Manager; following the correct procedure and ensuring relevant records are kept for such transactions.
  • To investigate unreconciled or queried purchase orders, GRN’s and invoices as required by the finance and purchasing departments respectively.
  • To reconcile to supplier statements and manage supplier accounts in accordance with agreed terms.
  • To provide supplier payment runs as required.
  • To provide detail and analysis, where deemed necessary, of order generation by overhead sector or responsible official.
  • To monitor project costs as required.
  • To answer the telephone and deal with email enquiries on all purchase ledger items as required, ensuring that requests are dealt with in a positive and professional manner.
  • To communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues and attend all relevant meetings.
  • To maintain company files and archiving to ensure HMRC compliance.
  • To provide back up support for answering all incoming telephone calls, greeting visitors arriving at reception and issuing visitor access cards in respect of all visitors.
  • To provide cover regards the duties of other members of the Finance Team as required by the Finance Manager.
  • To comply with health, safety and hygiene legislation.
  • To behave in a non-discriminatory manner in accordance with the company’s Ethical Trading Policy.
  • Carry out duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.



  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s at Ordinary Level plus 1 at a higher level or the equivalent by experience.
  • Preferred accounting skills to AAT qualification or working towards.


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience in food manufacturing is desirable.
  • Good IT skills including Excel and Word is required
  • Experience of QuickBooks is desirable.
  • Ability to plan and organise resources.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team and use own initiative.
  • Supplier management and service experience is desirable.
