Senior MarTech Manager
The Senior MarTech Manager is a hybrid business and technical leader who operates as a subject matter expert, trusted partner advisor, and digital technology lead. This role carries enterprise responsibility for shaping solution design and integration across marketing technology, while enabling scalable, secure, and high-quality marketing automation capabilities.
You’ll own the onboarding and ongoing technology direction for an assigned portfolio of business partners, acting as the primary liaison between Marketing, Technology, Data, and other cross-functional teams. You consistently demonstrate thought leadership, strong technical judgment, and the ability to lead cross-division delivery through influence, from discovery and design through execution readiness and launch.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and cultivate assigned partner relationships, balancing stakeholder objectives with scalable, reusable solutions.
- Lead discovery conversations to clarify business needs, assess feasibility, and shape solution options, trade-offs, and recommended approaches.
- Translate partner goals into clear, actionable requirements and delivery artifacts (user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data needs, and reporting requirements) to support efficient execution.
- Own end-to-end solution design for marketing automation use cases across audience, segmentation, orchestration, personalization, and measurement, aligned to enterprise standards.
- Partner with Technology and Data teams to define integration and data requirements (batch/API/event-based where applicable), data quality expectations, and downstream usage patterns for marketing activation.
- Define and promote best practices and standards across marketing automation, including journey design patterns, testing and validation approaches, documentation, and change management expectations.
- Support governance expectations by ensuring solutions align with privacy, security, accessibility, and applicable consent and communication requirements, coordinating required reviews and approvals.
- Provide consultation and technical guidance during build and implementation, helping teams resolve design questions, dependencies, and risks.
- Create and maintain documentation that enables long-term supportability and partner self-serve understanding, including solution overviews and operational runbooks where needed.
- Communicate progress and outcomes through clear status updates, decision logs, and concise executive-ready summaries.
- Stay current on industry trends and platform capabilities to identify practical improvements and modernization opportunities.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in digital marketing technology, marketing operations, marketing automation, or comparable roles involving solution design and stakeholder consulting.
- 3+ years of experience delivering marketing automation programs (email, SMS, push, and other digital messaging channels) in a complex enterprise environment.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) or another enterprise-level marketing automation platform.
- Strong ability to lead through influence and consult with senior partners, including managing trade-offs, scope, and expectations.
- Proficiency with SQL for segmentation, data validation, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for content troubleshooting and channel implementation constraints.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences.
- Experience working in Agile and/or SDLC delivery models, collaborating across product, engineering, data, and analytics teams.
Nice to have:
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certification(s) or comparable experience:
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator
- Knowledge of CRM, CDP, and customer data concepts (identity, preferences, consent, suppression) and how they enable activation.
- Experience supporting data integrations for marketing use cases (APIs, file-based transfers, event data) and partnering with data engineering teams.
- Knowledge and experience with other Salesforce products and/or other cloud platforms is an asset.
