The Batchman coordinates and produces quality concrete safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, adhering to company standards and customer requirements. This role includes operating batching equipment, monitoring raw materials, and collaborating with dispatch, drivers, and operations teams to ensure accurate mixes, timely production, and smooth plant operations. The Batchman plays a vital role in maintaining product quality, supporting on-time deliveries, and complying with safety, environmental, and operational standards in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Duties/Functions:
- Coordinates the opening and closing of plant facilities as needed, following company procedures and guidelines.
- Notifies dispatch or maintenance teams promptly about any plant issues that could affect customer service.
- Makes sure the company follows all local, state, federal, and internal environmental policies and regulations.
- Assists the plant manager or batch person in supervising production staff and enforcing company policies.
- Supports the plant manager or batch person in efficiently managing employee work hours to control costs.
- Assists the plant manager or batch person with administrative reports, including cash sales, delivery tickets, raw material receipts, and others as needed.
- Manages daily scheduling and shipping for Easter Sierras.
- Manages the daily call-out schedule.
- Serves as a Customer Service Representative.
- Communicates daily with central dispatch to ensure smooth operations.
- Assists with daily and monthly batch reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience: *
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and maintenance teams
- Knowledge of environmental policies and regulations
- Ability to assist in supervising and training plant production employees
- Competence in administrative tasks and reporting
- Effective time management and cost-efficiency skills
- Minimum age of 21 years required.
- H.S. Diploma
- Current Driver's License
