Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for responding to maintenance requests as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor. This position ensures that the physical aspects of the property meet the company’s established standards and any applicable laws. Qualifications for this full-time position are working knowledge in plumbing, electrical and small appliance repair. HVAC/EPA certified preferred.
                
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:                
  • Assist in meeting 2B's goals relative to resident satisfaction and resident retention
  • Install control and distribution apparatus, such as but not limited to, switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
  • Repair or assist in repair of faulty equipment or systems
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of buildings and equipment rooms. Read and record temperatures and pressures on equipment and facilities. Check, report and repair equipment malfunctions, such as but not limited to, noisy bearings, broken belts, excessive vibrations, and refrigerant leaks. Make equipment adjustments and calibrate equipment settings. Monitor and replace several types of filters. Oil and grease motors as needed
  • Assist in the operations of all HVAC equipment
  • Assist in the management of building access systems
  • Maintain a safe and accessible building for residents and visitors
  • Completes maintenance requests as indicated by property staff, adhering to emergency and privacy guidelines
  • Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions
Education and/or Experience:                
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license/automobile insurance and reliable transportation.
