Pay range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually
 
SUMMARY: The ideal Property Accountant will have proven industry experience, and the ability to manage a portfolio of properties with varying reporting needs. As a strong communicator with analytical ability, you will make it your mission to further improve upon our accounting operations. You will manage the production of thorough financial reporting for our clients to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth in the real estate market.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • 100% ownership and management of the portfolio of properties assigned 
  • Ensures all assigned financial reports are prepared in a timely and materially accurate manner.
  • Work with onsite property management team to support operations from an accounting perspective.
  • Performing general ledger accounting and bank statement reconciliation
  • Prepares and presents journal entries, financial statements, and related reports including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis
  • Assisting the accounting group to perform other related duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in business, accounting, or related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of proven and relevant experience as a property accountant within the real estate industry. 
  • Working knowledge of regulatory standards (GAAP)
  • Working knowledge of financial reporting and financial analysis. 
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Thorough understanding of general ledger transactions and the ability to work through complex accounting treatments
  • Ability to review financials to analytically identify and resolve misstatements
  • Ability to understand and interpret property management agreements
  • Requires little to no supervision in order to complete required tasks
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
