Staff Accountant

This Staff Accountant position is an opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to join a dynamic business with high visibility and growth ambitions. Ziff Davis continues to grow and we are expanding our global accounting team. As a fast paced, dynamic, global team supporting a public company we are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Company's accounting activities.
As a Staff Accountant, you will participate in all activities related to full-cycle accounting by business unit and location. This is a key position not only in the accounting department but in the operations of the company as well. The Staff Accountant will analyze financial data to identify issues and inconsistencies, assist in internal and external financial reporting and provide accounting guidance to operations.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for the preparation and execution of monthly close deliverables, including preparation of journal entries with supporting documentation.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts as part of month end close cycle with focus on continuous improvement
- Review of invoices for proper accounting treatment
- Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation in accordance with SOX
- Preparation of analyses to support our 10-Q and 10-K filings
- Support key stakeholders such as FP&A, Internal Audit and Tax
- Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and analyze balance sheet, P&L, and other financial reports specific to new acquisitions.
- Ad hoc reporting, analysis and special projects as needed
Job Requirements and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1-2 years public accounting or operational accounting experience
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently while contributing to overall department objectives
- Strong MS Office experience, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal are essential to this position
- Demonstrates problem-solving ability & able to identify issues and make recommendations with solutions
- Ability to work and communicate effectively and consistently with all levels of finance, operations, and senior management
- Demonstrates knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to meet tight quarterly deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and willingness to take initiative as a self-starter
- Team player who exhibits a positive and professional attitude
- CPA or parts of exam passed a plus
- Oracle Fusion experience a plus
Salary Disclosure: Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,000 to $70,000, plus incentive compensation (for eligible roles only), 401K with company match, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, and a flexible time off policy.
