Middleweight Designer

Position Summary

Middleweight designers are responsible for working across the creative aspects of our accounts across EMEA and APAC. They will work closely with the Creative, Planning and Client Service teams in London and Singapore, to design a range of digital output from email marketing, banner ads, web pages and social activity as well as supporting pitch presentations and marketing comms.

They should have good visual and typographic skills whilst still maintaining accuracy and a consistent attention to detail. Whilst cross-channel experience is desirable, it is key that they will have experience in email marketing and have a basic knowledge of email best practice as well as good HTML and CSS skills. Whilst not expected to code, our designers should have enough knowledge to ensure they can design work that can be executed by our developers.


Role Specific Competencies

  • Basic understanding of e-mail and internet-based usability and design standards
  • Knowledge of several on and offline design applications (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, ImageReady, Fireworks, Acrobat, etc.).
  • Knowledge of HTML authoring applications (Adobe Dreamweaver, hand-coding, etc.)
  • Knowledge of general business applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to understand and follow brand guidelines
  • Shows the ability to work within multiple programs and across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness and ability to develop and learn
  • Cultivate strong relationships within the immediate team, across internal departments
  • Have good written and interpersonal skills

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Brainstorming visual and copy ideas with other members of the creative team
  • Presenting design work to internal colelagues and client contacts, face-to-face or remotely
  • Modifying designs until the client is satisfied
  • Have an interest in commerce, popular culture, and new design trends and techniques
  • Meeting with account executives to discuss the client’s requirements and core messages
  • Familiarising themselves with the product, target audience and competitor activities in the market
  • Presenting initial ideas to the Creative Director, some of which may be rejected or developed into workable concepts

Required Experience
