Job Summary:

The Software Engineer II supports creating and maintaining cutting edge software products that aim to enhance the precision and efficiency of our clients’ back-office operations. The Software Engineer II collaborates with the team to help solve complex application and software problems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and maintenance of complex software products
  • Participate in the software development lifecycle, including support of requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation, and successful deployment.
  • Contribute to project deliverables by collaborating with Scrum Team members across various functions (Product, BSA, DEV, QA).
  • Exercise best practices and company standards for software design, development, and documentation.
  • Break down complex problems into well-defined, executable tasks to drive resolution.
  • Engage in the Scrum process and strive to improve yourself and the team.
  • Complete individual and team commitments within the time/complexity estimates,
  • Share in the ownership of an architectural vision and actively pursue incremental progress
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested. 
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
  • Proficient with Java or equivalent, SQL, and React
  • Knowledge of Client/Server fundamentals and Browser/Server interaction
  • Knowledge of object-oriented language, design patterns
  • Experience with APIs and scalable, de-coupled systems
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud-based infrastructure
  • Knowledge of TSQL: stored procedures, understanding of general database structure, and other storage mechanisms
  • Experience in troubleshooting
  • Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision in a results-oriented, fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in the financial services industry
