International Flight Planner

All SOC positions are expected to take initiative to aid in recovery, changes, and transitions of crew and aircraft and maximization of revenue opportunities.

The International Flight Planner is responsible for all flight planning, ground handling, customs/immigration, and landing/overfly permits for international trips and serves as the SOC-based Subject Matter Expert regarding international requirements.


  • Serve as SOC-based Subject Matter Expert on international operations and regulations
  • Analyze Weather, NOTAMs, TAF, METAR and other informational components required for the safe completion of flight

  • Acquire hangars and overnighting-permits as required
  • Coordinate aircraft handling with FBOs and International Handlers to include arrangements for catering, ground transportation or other services as needed
  • Assist Schedule team with trip and crew logistics during IROP situations
  • Utilize AFIS messaging system as needed to communicate with in-flight aircraft
  • Respond to Sales/RM and in-SOC questions regarding Customs / Overflights / Operational restrictions
  • New-airport analysis
  • Assist internal teams with flight planning questions and determining best route for permit requests
  • Current-day weather and performance monitoring
  • Confirm aircraft are on file with the appropriate agencies in order to receive clearance for takeoff
  • Create and disseminate computed flight plans and weather information
  • Determine potential hazards to safety of flight, and select the most desirable and economic route of flight.
  • Perform QC of future trips and coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist Senior. Director, SOC as directed


  • FAA Dispatcher certificate or relevant work experience 
  • High school diploma or GED. College degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in the aviation industry.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shift schedule to include weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task with acute attention to detail and an ability to prioritize workflow.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with the ability to problem-solve quickly and efficiently, ensuring every job is thoroughly completed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly and efficiently.
  • General knowledge of geography and how it relates to Aviation and Flight Planning.
  • Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office skills (including Word and Excel) and ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Someone who thrives working in a fast-paced environment
