Responsibilities:

  • Support of functional departments such as Purchasing, Materials, Transportation, Engineering, Supplier Base, Quality, etc. to provide technical assistance on all packaging related issues

  • Support of plant Engineers to provide technical assistance

  •  Implement and maintain best in class industry practices and processes

  • Establish and maintain guidelines and functional specifications

  • Provide supplier education to both internal and external suppliers/customers as required

  • Create and maintain departmental packaging information systems

  • Communicate and maintain procedures for packaging analysis, justification and implementation utilizing “Total Cost” concepts

  • Develop, monitor, and adjust BP budgets as required

  • Lead and facilitate cross functional teams when needed dealing with packaging

  • Coordinate for line-side storage and ergonomic considerations

     

Requirements:

  •   Bachelor of Science in Packaging, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

  • 2-4 years of automotive industry packaging and/or logistic experience preferred

  • Support of functional departments such as Materials, Transportation, Supply Base to provide technical and practical assistance on all packaging related issues which includes implementation of new/revised packaging, Quality.

  •      Creativity/Innovation

  • Refer to the Critical Competencies Dictionary for the standard competencies applicable to all positions within VTNA

  • Ability to work well in a team environment
