As a result of our continued success, we are seeking a Release and Change Management SME to join our team of qualified individuals supporting a Government client located in Ft. Meade, MD. The candidate will need to have experience in the ITSM focus areas of Release Management and Change Management, to support the client’s running and refinement of their Change Management process under an ITIL based model.


Job duties:

  • Lead the definition and refinement of Release and Change Management activities
  • Monitor all Release and Change Management activities as they happen to gather information for process analysis.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in process and regularly assess SOPs for accuracy and improvement
  • Support architectural development, engineering, design, and integration activities required to integrate or enhance capabilities
  • Provide architecture designs to meet requirements that are free from system vulnerabilities
  • Work with team to establish and maintain a tools baseline, focusing on tools supporting Change and Release Management
  • Identify metrics and criteria to ensure tool capabilities support the required mission need
  • Maintain frequent and direct productive communication with key stakeholders
  • Assist the PM with status reports, metrics reports, reviews, briefings, invoices and other deliverables
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with all customer stakeholders and contract leadership
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must have high-level understanding of the systems and applications that would exist to support Release and Change Management functions and processes
  • Must have a strong foundation in the ITIL processes of Change Management and Release and Deployment Management. Other Service Transition process knowledge is beneficial.
  • Ability to produce architecture and system drawings conforming to DoDAF 2.0 drawing formats. Knowledge or past use of MagicDraw is a plus.
  • Must have strong background in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
  • Must have superior written and verbal communications skills

Desired Skills: 

  • DISA experience is a strong benefit to this position, and experience in the OSS space is further beneficial
  • Project management/Program management experience in the federal space
  • PMP certification
  • Configuration Management domain knowledge
  • Technical experience in performing change or release activities

Education, Certification, and Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 of that being in the Release and Change Management specialty
  • ITIL v3 certification is desired, with a focus on Service Transition activities. ITIL v2 is acceptable.

Security Clearance:

  • Active/current DoD Secret Clearance or higher
  • Investigation/Reinvestigation completed within the last 5 years

Work Location:

  • Annapolis Junction, MD, and/or Ashburn, VA
  • Some work will be done at Ft. Meade, MD
