Blockchain Application Engineer Intern

Description

Contribute to the SParts (Software Parts) open source project (https://github.com/hyperledger-labs/SParts) - a Blockchain ledger application to track the use of software and hardware components across the manufacturing supply chain. We have several different applications to work on including i) developing the blockchain ledger, ii) build a dashboard to monitor the network ledger nodes (back end and web UI), iii) extend the command line interface, iv) extend the ledger restful api to support new services;  or v) implement a large data file sharing/storage  mechanism (e.g, IPFS, BitTorrent, ..).

Responsibilities:

  • Code - work on one of the initiatives described above (i) – (v)
  • Organize and maintain the SPart ledger docker container and release process.
  • Participate in the Agile software development life cycle (stand ups, code reviews, group testing …)

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: junior, senior or recent graduate
  • Strong code skills (in at least one: Python, C, C#, Java, Nodejs, Go or similar)
  • Curious, exploratory and strong self-learner
  • Strong work ethic
  • Flexible – able to pivot with evolving priorities
  • Ability to take instruction and work with others
  • Eager and prepared to learn a great deal

Bonus Points:

  • Extensive experience with Python
  • Experience with Vue.js
  • Working with containers (e.g. Docker)
  • Experience with Linux, Linux file system
  • Familiar/experience with decentralized application development
  • Eagerness to learn the Go language
  • Able to commit to 6+ month internship (part time ok)
