Wild Blue Production Artists work closely with the designer and various departments to execute the design. What distinguishes "production art" from design, is the opportunity to utilize prepress knowledge into creativity and design training in the work involved. As Production Artist, you preflight multiple digital file types for print production. You bridge the gap between creative concept and finished product. Wild Blue artists are required to provide creative and original solutions to solve our client’s needs.

Imaging is responsible for final output by producing artwork accurately; in both color representation, image quality, and in precision of dimensions. In essence, working with a variety of programs and people, you deliver the perfect image and by extension, enhance the image of our company.

Primary Responsibilities
Essential functions include, but not limited to the following:
• Preflight client and/or internal supplied files, calling out any discrepancies in regards to font management, image resolution, and overall dimension of the artwork.
• Clean up any unnecessary artifacts within the artwork for success between RIP software communication and printer.
• Determine proper PPI of an image, interpolate when image lacks resolution.
• Layout art maintaining proper yield per material set, add bleed in all circumstances.
• Callout specific PMS colors in any file, accurately color match using both the RIP Software and a Spectrophotometer to the Pantone Matching System.
• Create .png file support for use in rendering of photographic quality images.
• Create .pdf proof documents to be sent for Client approval upon final print.
• Understanding and properly perform maintenance (daily, monthly, yearly) of several different printer types.
• Press checks file setup before final output.
• Accurately print files using various versions of RIP Software.
• Support the organization by preparing concepts and ideas into final production finals.
• Work closely with the creative team to deliver printed assets that realize their initial concepts.
• Work closely with the virtual team to accurately portray printed product based off supplied renderings.
• Understand our clients demand for quality printed art.
• Differentiate our printed work from that of our competition in terms of quality and capabilities.
• Coordinate seamlessly with all departments to optimize workflow and maintain the final goal of the client through the entirety of a project.

Must have skills and abilities:
• Degree or equivalent experience and proficiency in Graphics.
• Minimum of 2-4 year's experience in printing related field.
• Advanced knowledge using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Competency in color matching.
• Familiarity using Digital Printers, and RIP Software.
• Experienced in color management and media profiling.
• Encyclopedic knowledge of pre-press and printing standards through variety of methods.
• This position requires more specific knowledge than gathering digital assets and exporting files to standardized image file formats or page description languages such as Adobe Portable Document Format.
