Wayfair continues to take the online customer experience to the next level, optimizing every part of the online shopping experience to help customers find what they’re looking for and create a home they love. The team at the center of the online customer experience is the Merchandising team. The goal of this team is to understand customer needs and provide ‘touch and feel’ for the products through content (descriptions, dimensions, imagery, etc.) for Wayfair’s vast online catalog of 10 million products.

Wayfair’s Merchandising team is looking for a strategic leader to oversee offshore operations and drive innovative, high-impact process improvement projects that directly impact the customer online shopping experience. Perfect for someone passionate about data-driven process improvement and seeing the immediate impact of their work on a daily basis.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a large team of Wayfair employees and partners of ~2,000 people globally
  • Manage ~1500 resources for existing processes
  • Develop roadmap of future BPO strategy by using data and other research tools to identify trends, find root causes, and solidify scope
  • The ability to take an ambiguous idea and formulate sound decision making by using business rational and data
  • Align with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency as business needs change
  • Collaborate consistently with BPO partners to find solves (e.g., management changes, process changes etc.)
  • Measure and improve vendor performance (cost, quality, and delivery)
  • Drive technology-oriented solutions both in-house and with vendors
  • Identify additional opportunities for outsourcing / offshoring while keeping informed of offshore marketplace changes and potential impacts to service.

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years of experience or 4+ years post MBA experience preferred
  • 3+ years management experience, including success in building and scaling teams
  • Experience in management consulting, private equity, investment banking, or corporate strategy preferred
  • Thrives in a high growth, entrepreneurial, and ambiguous environment
  • Demonstrated experience independently developing a strategy and driving tangible results across teams in an ambiguous environment while leveraging data from a multitude of sources to tell a story and impact the overarching strategy. Advanced excel skills needed
  • Evidence of “startup execution” and a “get it done” attitude when time is tight, and stakes are high
  • Proven experience and passion for working across functions and with c-level leaders, synthesizing multiple points of view and owning a coherent action plan, all while negotiating and influencing others
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communication style based on the audience
  • Previous experience with Business Process Outsourcing
