Multiple Openings. Software Engineer III (Financial Engineering/Platforms & Inventory Engineering) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA to perform full-stack, full-lifecycle design and maintenance of financial workflows for revenue and costs related to the movement of goods in Wayfair warehouses; work on cross cutting teams to effectively communicate business objectives; gather requirements from business stakeholders and derive software requirements; utilize object oriented languages such as PHP, Python, Java, C++, C# or Scala and SQL to develop enterprise applications; design new systems that scale horizontally, with messaging infrastructures such as Storm or Spark and Kafka or cloud computing; build and maintain web based tools for internal finance team with React/JS, CSS, and HTML; write unit and regression tests with Test Driven Design methodology; and mentor junior engineers and perform code review. Requires: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years' experience performing PHP, .js and SQL design and development for enterprise applications or, alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five years' experience performing PHP, .js and SQL design and development for enterprise applications.  One year of experience must include: Performing full-stack web programming using PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, Mustache and Handlebars, ensuring cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility; Performing scripting using Python and Shell scripting; Performing version control using GIT; Performing design and development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create scalable applications; Designing back-end applications using PHP or Python; Employing engineering and optimization best practices regarding frontend web standards, code maintainability, page rendering, and browser performance; Defining test plans and performing unit, integration testing; Performing SQL database development including designing, queries, triggers and stored procedures, performance tuning, and performing data ETL; Utilizing Jenkins and Puppet to deploy application code into server environments; and Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design.
