Language Course Developer (MSA) Level 1

Language Training Fort Meade, Maryland


VOR Technology is seeking a qualified Language Course Developer in the Ft. Meade, MD area with expertise in Modern Standard Arabic. The ideal candidate will be able to research, identify and develop language training materials and content for new cryptologic language courses in addition to updating existing course material to meet language training requirements.

Duties Include:

  • Clarifying and documenting customer requirements, course objectives and language level of materials;
  • Research and leverage classified and unclassified language resources for relevant, authentic language content;
  • Develop and document training materials in collaboration with language instructors regarding the design, development and documentation of language and area studies courses;
  • Compile course materials, utilizing blended learning technology (ex. Blackboard, Centra) as appropriate;
  • Develop assessment plans, diagnostic tests and placement tests, using contemporary authentic material;
  • Employ blended learning techniques incorporating language tools including Audacity, Sound Forge, CamStudio, Capture, Adobe CS5 and Adobe Premier during the development of language training materials;
  • Develop courses for iso immersion courses as required.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with Polygraph (must have clearance to apply)
  • B.A./B.S. in Language, Language-related, area studies, Education, International relations, or ISD;
  • Four (4) years' experience within the last eight (8) years developing documenting and/or updating basic, intermediate, and advanced language courses following the principles of ISD;
  • A minimum ILR proficiency level 3 in reading and listening (documented within the last 3 years) in the standard form of the language to be taught;
  • One (1) year experience typing using English and appropriate foreign language fonts, keyboards, and computer software;
  • Three (3) years SIGINT or Intelligence Community experience as a language analyst and-or language instructor.
