Position Title:  Manufacturing Trainer

 

Position Type: Non - Exempt

 

Location (Facility):  Justin facility

 

 

Responsibilities: 
  
  • Evaluate employees and identify weaknesses in production skills. 
  • Identify and conduct training needs according to individual skill levels. 
  • Work alongside with shop employees to develop new skills in the manufacturing process (including coating). 
  • Present the technical data and supply training requirements to employees. 
  • Encourage employees for training and identify potential candidates for progression. 
  • Track employee success and progress 
  • Assist in communication of all the training programs on a timely basis 
  • Prepare and deliver manufacturing training sessions and measure effectiveness of training program based on success rate. 
  • Teach employees welding skills in carbon and stainless plate, pipe welding using GMAW-P and GTAW. 
  • Train and help develop employees on operation of specific machinery. 
  • Train and upkeep records for forklift and crane certifications. 
  • Assist with FEM/5S program as needed. 
  • Robotic welding experience with programing preferred 
  
Qualifications (education, experience, skills, personal attributes): 
  
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in a manufacturing/steel fabrication environment required.
  • Computer literacy of Microsoft Windows software such as Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Working knowledge of arc welding processes for carbon, stainless and alloy metals preferred.
  • Familiarity with liquid and powder type coatings preferred.
  • Familiarity with ASTM specifications, AWWA standards and AWS/ASME welding codes desired.
  • Good understanding of shop math (fraction to decimal) and ability to read tape measure, and measuring tools (caliper, micrometers) preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints desired.
  • Good written and oral communication skills required.
  • Good problem solving capabilities desired.
  • Must be able to work independently, efficiently and be self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of FANUC robotic welding.
  
  
Trainer Roles  
  •   Training 
  •   Onboarding or new employee training 
  •    Building Processes 
  •   Establish documents (Testing, checklist and procedure. i.e. Day 1, week 1, month 1…) 
  •   Roll out to Leads or Facilities (Lead Training) 
  •   Documentation control 
  •   Further Development of new or needed Procedures, JSA, LOTO and Method Sheets (i.e. cutting sequence, truck loading log, IPC loading log, etc.) 
  •   Content/Videos of Fabrication processes (Visuals) 
  •   Specific machine and components i.e. rolls sets 
  •   Training schedule/template 
  •    Procedures, JSA, LOTO and Method Sheets 
  •    Run-time sheet/ZoHo/Qlikview trainings 
  •    Cross training matrix review/training (HDPE/Cut-grooving, uncommon tools) 
  •    Crane training/Forklift training schedules (Trainer, Location, Date) 
  •    FEM/Safety trainers all facilities  
  •    Waste management 
  •     Facility Standardizations 
  •    Document validation of Procedures, JSA, LOTO and Method Sheets 
  •    Document validation of checklists, binders, groove inspections, etc. 
  •    Document validation of processes and procedures are being performed, i.e. field boxes, labeling, pipe markings, etc. 
  •    Document validation of standard layouts per management specs (tool boxes, floor markings, tools, shadow boards, etc.) 
  •    QA audits/project binder validation between all facilities
