Description

1. Efficiently planning, purchasing, and managing of the assigned supply points and/or product lines and their respective suppliers to deliver finished products to the customer and maintaining a high level of customer service.
2. Creating long- and short-term project plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
3. Adjusting schedules and targets on projects as needs for the project change.
4. Reviews open customer orders and utilizes shop and equipment capacities to determine manufacturing facility alongside Operations Manager.
5. Work closely with other fabrication buyer/planners to ensure that kanbans are triggered to appropriate fab manufacturing locations while working with Operations Manager to determine scheduling requirements for each facility.
6. Coordinate meetings with other departments on large capacity orders.
7. Manage material in house for large capacity orders.
8. Facilitate part code approval, routers and lead time requests for each facility.
9. Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory of all locations. Determine stocking levels based off usage.
10. Knows how to resolve problems and discrepancies with quality, delivery dates, quantity, and invoicing of purchased commodities.
11. Develops and manages the various databases to ensure systems work smoothly.

12. Works well in a team environment including warehouse, manufacturing, customer service, maintenance, and shipping teams so customer requirement goals are met.
13. Able to adapt quickly and knows several problem-solving techniques.
14. Can manage tactical duties with Suppliers and report out on Supplier Performance.
15. Appraise vendors’ performance based on metrics such as on time delivery, accuracy and quality of material and owns the tactical day to day supplier relationship.
16. Participate in and use Quality Improvement Process in resolving problems in the work environment.

1. Minimum Associates Degree (2yr)
2. AS400/ Profound preferred but not required
3. Minimum internship or co-op experience in Purchasing, Material Control, Manufacturing planning or Project Management
4. Strong analytical problem-solving ability
5. Customer Service driven
6. Good oral and written communications skills
7. Experience in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite
8. Must be goal and detail oriented, reliable, self-motivated, and able to multi-task effectively
9. Good organizational and analytical problem-solving skills required.
