RESPONSIBILITIES to include but not limited to: 
 
  • Working with Sourcing and other functional groups, the incumbent will drive the Supplier Qualification Process for all existing and prospective Victaulic suppliers in-country, in accordance with corporate procedures. Responsible for supplier qualification in conjunction with Sourcing and other applicable groups for the introduction of new suppliers, products, and production processes.
  • Responsible for supporting all elements of the supplier quality management system including, first piece approvals, periodic production part inspections, product/process validations and improvement, control plan development and adherence, non-conforming material containment, root cause analysis and CAPA. 
  • Assist suppliers in understanding and implementing Victaulic product specifications.
  • Responsible for assisting in supplier corrective actions as it pertains to internal or external failures as reported through the SCAR and PCAR systems.  For issues affecting product availability, lead team meetings to ensure actions and status are communicated effectively. 
  • Responsible for supplier development.  In conjunction with the Global Quality Assurance Engineering group, identify opportunities for development based on risk and benefit.  Development opportunities to include, but limited to, improved inspection initiatives, leveraging technology, mistake proofing, capacity improvement, or quality management opportunities.
  • Perform special projects as assigned by the Supplier Quality Supervisor.
  • Perform trend analysis and establish ongoing supplier quality metrics.
  • Initiate periodic communication with internal customers to ensure quality objectives are clearly identified and acted upon. 
  • Specific policies and procedures have been established by the Engineering Department to provide for the security and accessibility of electronic data and confidential information. It is the responsibility of the employee, in the daily course of doing business, to follow said policies as they relate to document management (see EOG-26). The extent to which departmental research and development information is stored electronically has vastly increased and will continue to do so. The new Federal rules pertaining to electronic discovery stipulate that substantive email communications constituted "records" under the Federal Records Act. It is therefore the responsibility of each departmental employee to understand their role in communicating via e-mails and that all e-mails must be written/responded to in a professional manner, as outlined in EOG-26.  
  
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role with demonstrated success in supplier qualification, management, correction, and development preferred.
  • Experience with managing supplier quality in the production of cast and machined components.
  • Basic knowledge of facility audits in accordance with standard QMS guidelines.
  • A strong knowledge of fundamental Quality Engineering principles and techniques; including statistical analysis and related software.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer highly desirable.
  • Proficient in problem solving.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic systems and software (MS Office, Minitab, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to travel 50% of the time with short notice.  
  • Working knowledge of measuring equipment.
  • Able to make independent decisions without supervisory assistance.
