Assistant High School Track & Field Coach (2024-2025 SY)

Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Employment Type: This is a part-time position for the 2024-2025 school year.
Salary: The salary for this position is a $2,000 stipend paid in two installments and the season runs from late February through early May.

- Follow and enforce Valor’s athletic policies and regulations outlined in the Athletic Handbook.
- Must be willing to plan and oversee the day-to-day training and development of student-athletes in the following field event areas: long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, and discus as well as overseeing a strength/weight training program
- Assisting the Head Coach and other Assistant Coaches in entering athletes into meets via MileSplit.
- Attending and supporting athletes during meets
- Create a safe environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Work directly with the Athletic Department to ensure the success and safety of the program
- Communicate and work directly with the Athletic Trainer on injuries and rehabilitation.
- Ability to model, live, and reinforce the school’s core values and mission on and off the field of play with colleagues, scholar-athletes, parents, and the larger community.
- Attend coaches professional development and meetings scheduled by the athletic department.
- Evaluate athlete’s skill, to develop and facilitate effective practices and game strategies.
- Supervise practice and competition as scheduled.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of school equipment.
- Other duties, as assigned by the Managing Director of Athletics
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the rules and fundamentals of the sport.
- Previous experience with a TSSAA or state athletic-sanctioned school preferred.
- Flexibility with personal schedule to accommodate the needs of the athletic program.
