This role exists to create and maintain general ledger transactions and account analysis, oversee general ledger transactions created by other Finance department employees, and lead in preparation and issuance of monthly reports.

Job Functions:
• Maintain general ledger integrity by preparing general ledger transactions in accordance with GAAP and UMG Music policies and procedures

• Ensure adherence to the company’s policies and procedures while working quickly to normalize new processes and supporting others in the department

• Assist with managing and completion of monthly closings including preparation and review of journal entries and cost-center financial statements

• Complete and post all intercompany transfers during the month for proper reporting in the financial statements

• Prepare the annual 1099 form file for the third-party vendor. Maintain the files for1099s that are returned. Execute any required adjustment in a timely manner. Serve as the primary contact for 1099 recipients

• On a timely and routine basis, prepare balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned in sufficient detail to substantiate trial balance accounts to both internal and external auditors with adequate documentation

• Prepare all necessary analyses and financial details on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to assist with corporate tax return preparation

• Has primary responsibility for aggregation of all balance sheet reconciliations monthly by the required deadline and facilitate a formal review and sign-off with the Dir., Accounting

• Assist in preparation annual plan for overhead expenditures as well as any forecast revisions

• Assist Dir., Accounting with SOX testing and reporting

• Other Duties as assigned

• Strong computer skills, 10-key proficiency and proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel and Access
• Lawson/Infor ERP, a plus
• SOX compliance testing and reporting
• Thorough, accurate, organized and detail-oriented
• Results driven, Initiative and Resourcefulness
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Education & Experience:
• Experience in a large corporate setting actively participating in all aspects of the month-end close and reporting processes
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Public accounting experience and C.P.A. certification a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
