The position will be a key part of Universal Music’s streaming strategy label group. This position focuses on all artist consumption, release, account, consumer and revenue strategies. The analyst will need to be a proven self-starter, solutions based creative thinker with a hunger to constantly learn and evolve strategies associated with the label’s artists and release strategies. The analyst will be required to dive deep into release and artist performance across streaming partners with a requirement to make recommendations based on compelling analyses, insights and big data queries, which will be used by account management and senior executive team to make informed business decisions.

Job Functions:

  • Build, develop and maintain various partner, artist and release level performance data, consumer behavior and consumption trend projects with ongoing summaries and recommendations to constantly evolve the artist release strategy.
  • Monitor and understand key performance indicators relating to our streaming partner’s consumer behavior and consumption trends to develop and communicate weekly recommendations
  • Work with IS&T and consumer insights teams mining big data to help build bespoke and ad-hoc analyses based on label priorities
  • Work with various visualization tools to present findings in a visually compelling way

Job Requirements:


  • Analytics mindset - ability to identify trends in large datasets, display creativity in problem-solving
  • Highly organized team player that is detail oriented and can present findings in a visually compelling and articulate manner
  • Have a “can do” mentality to ensure the needs of labels, accounts and senior management are met in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Be a team player with a hunger to learn new skills, tools and techniques
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced environment, manage multiple tasks at once and work to deadlines
  • Passion for music


  • Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, V-Lookups, index functions, CSE functions etc). Strongly preferred.
  • Experience with reporting and visualization software (Big Query, Alteryx, Tableau Desktop, ClickView, Business Objects etc.) and SQL strongly preferred.


  • Bachelor’s degree
